Private Group Safaris in East Africa
Your People. Your Safari.
Travel East Africa with the people you choose.
Queen of East Africa Luxury Tours designs private journeys across Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania and Zanzibar around your people, your dates and what you want to experience together.
- Friends traveling together.
- Couples traveling together.
- Families and extended families.
- Churches and faith communities.
- Clubs and associations.
- Birthday and celebration groups.
Or simply people who have been saying, “We need to go to Africa together.”
Whether you’re two couples traveling together, an extended family or a larger group, we design around the people you choose to travel with.
You Bring the People. We’ll Build Around Them.
- Maybe everyone wants the classic safari.
- Maybe gorillas are the reason you’re coming.
- Maybe it’s the Great Migration.
- Maybe you want safari followed by Zanzibar.
- Maybe some people want adventure while others prefer a slower pace.
Start with what brings your group together.
We’ll build from there.
Your Group. Not a Group Tour.
A private group safari is different from joining a scheduled departure with travelers you don’t know.
- You choose who you’re traveling with.
- We design around your dates.
- We build the route around your interests.
- And where appropriate, your group travels with dedicated safari vehicles and guides arranged for your journey.
No strangers are added simply to fill seats.
Build Your Safari Around What Matters to You
Your private safari can bring together the experiences that make sense for your people.
Wildlife Safaris
Explore the Serengeti, Maasai Mara, Queen Elizabeth, Murchison Falls, Akagera, Ngorongoro and more.
Gorilla & Primate Trekking
Build your journey through Uganda or Rwanda around gorillas, chimpanzees and other primate experiences.
The Great Migration
Let your travel dates help determine where to experience one of East Africa’s great wildlife spectacles across the Serengeti–Mara ecosystem.
Safari + Beach
Spend the first part of your journey exploring East Africa, then slow everything down on Zanzibar or the Kenya coast.
Culture, Food & Community
Go beyond wildlife with experiences connected to the people, food, heritage and communities of the places you’re visiting.
Where Will You Go? One Country or Several.
Uganda
Track mountain gorillas and chimpanzees, explore wildlife-rich national parks, discover the Nile and experience a country with remarkable variety.
Rwanda
Combine mountain gorillas with Akagera’s wildlife, Kigali, Lake Kivu and a beautifully connected journey through the Land of a Thousand Hills.
Kenya
Experience classic safari landscapes, extraordinary wildlife and the option to finish your journey beside the Indian Ocean.
Tanzania
Explore the Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Tarangire, with natural extensions to Zanzibar and the Indian Ocean.
Zanzibar
Slow down with beautiful beaches, Stone Town, Swahili culture, food and the Indian Ocean.
Different People. One Journey.
Group travel takes more than putting everyone on the same itinerary.
- Some travelers may want adjoining rooms.
- Some may need single rooms.
- Some may have dietary requirements.
- Some may want more activity than others.
- And larger groups may require multiple vehicles, guides and carefully coordinated movements.
We consider those details when designing your journey so your group can enjoy traveling together without everyone having to travel in exactly the same way.
Celebrating Something?
Africa can be a remarkable place to bring your people together.
- Milestone birthdays.
- Anniversaries.
- Reunions.
- Graduations.
- Retirement celebrations.
- Faith journeys.
- Friends finally taking the trip they’ve talked about for years.
Tell us why you’re traveling.
We’ll help shape the journey around it.
We Handle the Moving Parts. Your Group Gets to Enjoy Africa.
Behind a successful group safari are a lot of details.
- Accommodation.
- Safari vehicles.
- Guides.
- Airport arrivals.
- Transfers.
- Domestic flights.
- Permits where required.
- Activities.
- Rooming arrangements.
- Special requests.
- Beach extensions.
- And getting everyone from one place to the next.
Queen Safaris coordinates those pieces across East Africa so you don’t have to spend your journey managing them yourself.
Plan With Queen Safaris →Private Group Safari FAQs
How many people do we need for a private group safari?
We don’t define a private group by a specific number. Whether you’re couples traveling together, a family, a group of friends or a larger organization, tell us who is traveling and we’ll determine the arrangements appropriate for your party.
Will we have our own safari vehicle?
Private vehicle arrangements can be built into your safari where appropriate. Larger groups may travel across multiple coordinated vehicles.
Can several couples travel together?
Absolutely. We can design one journey for couples or friends who want to experience East Africa together.
Can you organize larger groups?
Yes. The logistics will depend on your group size, destinations, accommodation availability and the experiences involved.
Can we combine several countries?
Yes. Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania and Zanzibar can be combined in different ways depending on your available time, interests and routing.
Can our group combine safari and beach?
Yes. Tanzania and Zanzibar, or a Kenya safari followed by the Kenya coast, are particularly natural combinations. We can also design wider multi-country journeys that finish at the Indian Ocean.
Can you arrange gorilla trekking for a private group?
Yes, subject to permit availability and applicable trekking requirements. Gorilla trekking operates according to national park regulations and should not be considered an exclusively private activity.
Bring Your People. We’ll Take It From There.
You don’t need to arrive with a finished itinerary.
That’s our job.
Tell us:
- How many people are traveling?
- Who is traveling together?
- When would you like to go?
- How many days do you have?
- Which countries or experiences interest you?
- Are you celebrating something?
- What level of accommodation are you considering?
- Is there anything we should know about your group?
